The shock dyno was developed to collect reliable force and displacement data for suspension validation and tuning. The goal was to create a repeatable test setup that converted physical shock loads into clean, usable data for analysis.
A load cell was integrated into the dyno fixture to measure force during compression and rebound. The load cell output was routed through a signal amplifier to condition and scale the analog signal. This conditioned signal was then fed into a RaceCapture data acquisition unit, which logged synchronized force data during each test run.
RaceCapture streamed and stored the data on a computer, allowing force data to be recorded alongside displacement and time. This workflow enabled direct visualization and comparison of shock behavior across different test conditions. The completed system provided a reliable pipeline from physical loading to digital data, supporting quantitative suspension analysis and informed setup decisions.
